Air Fryer Baked Apples are a delicious light dessert that can be prepared in just a few minutes and customized with your favorite spices like cinnamon, anise, or the more classic brown or granulated sugar.

The Air Fryer Baked Apples Recipe will allow you to prepare tasty Baked Apples in just a few minutes while saving electricity thanks to the quick cooking time provided by the Air Fryer. Due to the way the Air Fryer distributes heat to food, the result will be very similar to traditional Oven-Baked Apples.

If, as with Oven-Baked Apples, you want to preserve the delicious juice that forms during cooking, we recommend placing a small disposable circular aluminum tray at the bottom of the basket. This will increase the cooking time by a few minutes, but you’ll have a caramel-flavored sauce that pairs perfectly with the Baked Apples.

No specific type of apple is required; you can use any variety you prefer, although the best one we recommend is the Granny Smith. It’s very juicy and excellent for cooking.

Instructions

  1. To prepare Air Fryer Baked Apples, first wash your apples thoroughly and remove the core.

  2. Place a sheet of aluminum foil between the air fryer drawer and basket to help with cleanup, then arrange the apples in the basket.

  3. Sprinkle the apples with some sugar and cook in the preheated air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for about 20 minutes.

  4. Once cooked, remove your apples from the basket and serve them dusted with powdered sugar if desired.

Alternatives

You can enhance your Air Fryer Baked Apples by filling the cavity (created after removing the stem) with coarsely chopped nuts and a teaspoon of honey. If desired, you can also add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon

Tips

If you prefer, you can skip removing the core. Simply sprinkle some granulated sugar on top of the apples (where the stem is)

Storage

Air Fryer Baked Apples can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 days without any issues
