The Airmail Cocktail made its appearance in Cuba in the 1930s′ at the height of American Prohibitionism as a symbol of the rebellion against the ban on selling and consuming alcohol that was circumvented with dedicated flights that transported U.S. citizens to the island of Cuba. The Recipe of the Airmail Cocktail was first published in 1941 in a book dedicated to the most iconic cocktails of the day, and W.C. Whitfield, the’author, affirmed “It will make you fly high”.

  1. To prepare the Airmail Cocktail, put the rum, lime juice, honey syrup, a little ice in a shaker and shake until cold.
