Instructions

  1. To prepare homemade Chicken Nuggets, start by making the batter: beat together the egg, milk, flour and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Mix all ingredients well to avoid any lumps. Once ready, cover the batter with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator.

  2. Cut the chicken breast, bread, and onion into small cubes. Place everything in a food processor, adding a small piece of garlic, a teaspoon of mustard, and a pinch of salt. Blend well until you obtain a homogeneous mixture that pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

  3. Now shape the mixture into irregular nuggets, making sure they are all approximately the same size for even cooking.

  4. Dip each nugget first in the batter and then in breadcrumbs, ensuring they are evenly coated. The breading should be uniform all around.

  5. Fry the Chicken Nuggets in plenty of hot vegetable oil at 170°C (338°F) until golden brown. Drain them and transfer to paper towels to absorb excess oil. Let them rest for 1-2 minutes.

  6. Your Homemade Chicken Nuggets are now ready to be served. Accompany them with your favorite sauces such as Ketchup, Mayonnaise, or Tartar Sauce.

Alternatives

You can enhance the breading of your Chicken Nuggets by adding chopped fresh herbs like Thyme, Sage, and Rosemary to the breadcrumbs, or spices such as Paprika or Turmeric for extra flavor.

Tips

To achieve perfectly crispy Chicken Nuggets, make sure the batter is very cold and proceed with frying immediately after breading. The thermal shock between the cold batter and hot oil will guarantee a crispy golden coating.

Storage

Once fried, Chicken Nuggets can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. You can also store them in the refrigerator for a few hours before cooking if needed.
