  1. To prepare the Fennel and Apple Salad, start by thoroughly washing the apple and fennel under running water.
  2. Clean the fennel by removing the ends and the hard core inside, then slice it very thinly using a mandoline slicer. Transfer it to a salad bowl and set aside for now.
  3. Remove the apple core and slice it with the mandoline to obtain slices about two millimeters thick. Add them to the fennel and quickly toss together.
  4. Separately, roughly chop the walnuts with a knife and add them to the sliced vegetables along with the cleaned salad greens.
  5. Create a dressing by emulsifying olive oil, lemon juice, and salt, and use it to dress the salad just before serving. You’ll get a light yet flavorful side dish that’s perfect for any occasion. Finally, remember to download our App with exclusive content and fewer ads!

Variations and Alternatives

For an even richer version, you can make the Fennel Salad by adding cheese cubes of your choice. Bavarian Emmental cheese works perfectly, as its sweetness integrates beautifully into the dish.

Tips

We recommend dressing the Fennel and Apple Salad at the last moment to prevent the lemon’s acidity from making the vegetables lose their characteristic crunchiness.

Storage

The Fennel and Apple Salad can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
